Catmint, that photo #1 looks like a Centaurea to me; perhaps Splendens Purple? At first I thought it looked rather Dianthus-like, but the "spikiness" of the petals tells me.. maybe not. ;)

Nope, for sure my little threadleaf-looking babies are not Coreopsis of any sort.. got pics of the blooms now, and they are white and medium - to - pale pink... Pics #'s 2 and 3, that's the TOP of the booms, they do not "nod" or droop.
