My little experiment to leave all ours out this fall under a tarp to keep them dark and dry was not successful. But I didn't kill them, however they are all confused and now just starting to come to life. Maybe I will have blooms in May or June! I always have hair-brained ideas. Happily I got back to work for the whole day in the garden today after my trip to Okla to celebrate my Mom's 99th. She is still going great guns. I was exhausted when I got back to Boston from all the festivities in her honor. Of course having to make an emergency landing when the AA plane I was on from Tulsa to Dallas hit a flock of birds. A tad unnerving and of course I missed my connection. I am posting a shot of my Mom at lunch at Philbrook which is a local Tulsa Art museum in an old home with a formal Italian garden as well as informal acreage that contains sculpture and a lovely collection of shrubs and trees. The Hellebores where out everywhere, but not much else as they have had a very cold winter too. It was a favorite haunt for me as a child and still is! This was taken the day before she turned 99.
