is not that far away. The bed is also near the foundation--and gets full sun all day.
I suppose all that works...It is almost like my house has different zones..
Front is cold--facing North. Back gets some sun, especially now that there are
no leaves on the trees.

I think in developments--like where i am--as well as downtown with all the buildings--
there can be a "micro climate of sorts. G.

I did not set out to get into "exotics"--it just happened through a few trades.
So--I have been growing these "exotics" since 2005 or so.
But--it has been educational--and no one in Baltimore, that I know of, has these plants.
Of course--half of DG'ers in this area now have all of them....
