Hey Gita, August is doing well in school, except that he keeps getting in trouble for talking to the kid next to him. The kids got out of school 2 hours early yesterday because of the heat, which many people think is crazy but his school doesn't have a/c. Most kids these days have a/c at home so they aren't used to the heat. Can you imagine trying to wrangle 20 5 year olds by yourself in 100° heat + humidity? God Bless the Teachers.

I guess you could transport the caterpillars to the new parsley to save them the trip. :)

My garden is getting no respite from the heat though. Most of my petunias have given up the ghost. Even my cockscomb are drying up in some places! I've been really impressed by the gomphrena though. They are drought tolerant stars right now. I like them because they don't really get going till in the second half of summer, and don't crowd out the early blooming annuals. I don't like that they take forever to bloom from seed. I didn't really start the seeds till the last frost date as my garden bed didn't depend on them so much, but anyway lesson learned for next year. I miss my annual Salvia 'Fireworks(?)' from last year. I gave away all the baby plants that I grew this year. Here's last year's front bed in August. Sorry no pics of this year's gomphrena right now.
