They are almost 100% NOT fungus gnats because i've checked all of my house plants thoroughly and I do not see anything in the soil or around the plant. I have had fungus gnats and can recognize the larvae and the adults are usually all over the plants if that is the source. A few days ago I left my balcony door open a crack. It was a humid day. Hours later I found HUNDREDS of these slow moving things all over the windowsill and frame in the bedroom. Checked all of the trash, food, and plants in the house. No source found. All I could think was that they all flew in the apartment for some reason. But now, days later, I am still finding 50+ of these things on my windowsill and they are also attracted to the wet sink area after showering. I am getting nervous that there is a source in the apartment that I haven't found or that they are getting in the apartment somehow from outside. I have no standing water anywhere on my balcony. Anyone know the type of gnat/fly and their behavior so maybe I could figure out where they're coming from/why there are so many in my living space? Much appreciated!!! |
