The loon (I think it's a loon.) was photographed from South Padre Island in the southern tip of Texas. The red-tailed hawk was photographed at the Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge on the Gulf coast farther north toward Freeport, TX. Could the red-tail be a Harlan's or a Krider's?
