warriorswisdomkathy wrote: Hi susie, been off a few days. Is the statice annual or perenn? If perenn. ie. Limonium latifolium or gmelinii, I have grown both but only L. l. from seed, can start in now., should be about 5-7 days. See post above #9369129 for pix of L. l. Cupid's Dart is Catanche caerulea, I just had some white that sprouted this past week. I surface sow these inside , just to let you know, I don't get that great of a germination rate, so spinkle lots of seed. I have two pots so far and three seedlings, after 5 days. Baby's Breath, again which one the annual or perenn. If perenn., is Gypsophila paniculata or oldhamiana or repens, I ususally start in under lights also, surface sow. Should take less than a week for germination. Sorry, lost old record book of exact info. Also once planted out I did get reseeding on all 3, most prolithic on Oldhamiana and Repens. Malva was started in and again less than 5 days. If you have M. zebrina, from what I remember it does reseed in the garden too. Does that help? Sorry, the others I have no personal experience with. What is ringed bellflower? A Campanula? If a Campanula, I personally surface so. And a hint, SMALL seed is normally surface sown, I usually put just a dusting of vermiculite so I know that I did put seed in the pot...lol. The other gerneral rule of thumb I use is to cover the seed the depth of the seed, 1/8, 1/4". I almost always start things in a covered tray, helps keep the humidity in. Pix is from several years ago........ |
