Thank goodness it's warmer today, and supposed to stay above 55deg. for the next few days at least! Not only protecting my orchids and tender tropicals, I have veggies going that will just go dormant if I let the cold air git 'em. Tomatoes ripening on the vines, crookneck squash coming along, peppers just getting started . . . If I can just keep them warm enough, they'll continue to ripen and produce. Two kinds of broccoli could care less about the cold, but it will slow them down a bit as well. Last toot for Charles Grimaldi's trumpets. We'll see if the next full moon brings them along again - depends how warm it is, I'm guessing. Poor old Brazilian flame wishes it was back in Brazil, I'll bet! The whole plant has flower heads getting started. My one concession to Lantanas - this one is called "Butter & Sugar". |
