I've been too busy wallowing in my grief to care, I haven't acknowledged friends needs, I lack participating in lengthy discussions and I have been ignoring my responsibilities of being a gardener/trader/giver of plants. For this I apologize to everyone. I finally wrote today on FB, made my list, it took me 2 hours to write15 days worth of "thankfuls" , I wanted to convey my true feelings without sounding too mushy which is how i've been feeling for months now. Here's the list for those of you not on FB, #13 is meant for all of you. Because of how i've been feeling since the death of my brother, I haven't kept up with life. I've lost interest....I am still spinning from his death and have forgotten how much I have to be Thankful For. I sat down and made a list as I've seen a lot of people do here on FB. I had 15 days to catch up on and didn't think I could find that many things. I was wrong, I have many, many things that I am thankful for so here goes........... 1.) I Am Thankful For..... My husband and best friend Brian Plaisted. He holds me up when I stumble, picks me up when I fall, encourage's me to achieve my goals and over come my fears and phobia's. He wipes my tears, he knows me better than I do myself. He loves me unconditionally, he makes me whole. 2.) I am thankful for my beautiful children. They make my world turn(sometimes upside down), they make the sunshine on a rainy day, they make my heart do somersaults... I am blessed. 3.) I am thankful for my animals, 2 dogs, 1 cat, a rabbit and even the darn gecko. They make me smile and are always happy to see me. 4.) I am thankful for my past it has taught me life lesson's, my weakness's, how to love, the heart ache of loss and that I am only human. 5.) I am thankful for second chances, for good friends that I have laid to rest, but left life-long impression on me in the short time they were here. 6.) I am thankful that I live in the country and can still see the stars. 7.) I am thankful for my blood family & extended family as crazy, scattered and large as it is. 8.) I am thankful my parents taught me right from wrong, patience, kindness and forgiveness. 9.) I am thankful for hard times, they make me appreciate all that I have. 10.) I am thankful for the Sunday dinners my Memere prepared ....all 24 of us or better. Sometimes she had 2 - 3 grills going at once. At 4' 10" she was little a mini twister in that kitchen. When the dust settled there was a feast spread out yummy enough for a King!! 11.) I am thankful for memories and the warm sensation they bring when thinking of things like #10. A hug from the past!! 12.) I am thankful God chose me to be Justin's Mom. It hasn't been easy, i've made many mistakes but the lesson's and love I have acquired is priceless! 13.) I am thankful for my Dave's Garden friends, they have been there for me through every high and low over the last 6 years. I am forever grateful for their prayers, hugs, plants, letters, gifts, and words of encouragement. You are an example of how good the world can be, how to reach out to people you've never even met and give them hope. Thank you friends, you know who you are!! 14.) I am thankful for tears, they cleanse the soul, release the fears and give a much needed outlet for strong emotions. I have been cleaning my soul and facing my fears for over a month now. I am grateful to be able to cry, now a little lapse in between would be nice. :) 15.) I am thankful for second chances. |
