Wow! What a great idea for a thread. Stuff like this is great to read!

Where to start...My name is Michelle and I'm 30 years old. I have a beautiful 6 year old son named Skylar. He IS the pride and joy of my life. He finished Kindergarten in May. Every morning for the first week of summer vacation he would ask "Do I have school today?" LOL. His concepts of time haven't developed yet :p

In the last two years I have been dating (now a serious one :) my sweet "boyfriend" James. He is such a good man, very even tempered and keeps me stable! He likes plants, but doesn't know details. He enjoys the work I do in the garden. (I think! LOL)

I enjoy gardening (duh), any kind of physical activity. I really dont like to watch tv ('cept NBC thursday nights and now friends is OVER!! WAAAH). If 'm not cleaning house or outside, I read variety of board forums, play asheron's call, design my web pages or general fiddling on the web.

I try to do aerobic activity 3 times a week. My mother had quadruple bypass surgery at age 40? 45?, so I do my best to eat right and stay strong in the body. Its aggravating to work so hard and still have pudgy body fat! *rolls eyes*

I teach science classes at the junior high level, therefore I have lots of time during the summer to play in the yard!

Those who have read some of my threads know that I have moved into a new house with relatively NO landscaping. There is probably 5 acres here for me to garden my life away! My goal is to sit in my yard 10-20 years from now and enjoy all its spendor.

As for pets, I have a labrador retriever (Aspen) who's 16 years old. I received her from a high school friend when she was 6 weeks old. My parents took care of her while I was in college, but she came to live with me thereafter. At my son's whim, we tried chickens for a while. I have to admit, Mr. Rooster, as we affectionally called him, was a hoot! His antics were always amusing, but I couldn't stand his loud mouth and mulch throwing parties. I recently gave all the chickens to a friend who has farm. James has 3 cats who are very sweet. You might have seen a pic of sweet velveta napping in the garden. Last but not least is the closest animal to my heart, horses. I grew up with a horse at home. My parents did not have acreage in which to keep a horse, but I was so adamant, they agreed to let me buy one ONLY if I payed for everything myself. I had friends who had farms. I mostly kept her at other people's places. Shadow was an older grade mare, (not a registered breed) but she knew so much and miles of patience. I enjoyed riding around the national forests where we lived and competed every year at the county fair. I was Rodeo Queen three different years. :) I had to sell Shadow when I graduated high school. My parents were NOT in agreeance to taking care of her while I was in college! My love for horses was so deep, I majored in equestrian science! For a couple years after graduating I gave riding lessons and competed in American Paint Horse (APHA) Associated shows. My claim to fame was in 2000 when my two year old stallion finished in the top 15 2year old western pleasure class at the APHA World Show. There were over 100 horse in the class. Two weeks later I rode him to a Circuit Championship at the Margarita Classic in Fort Worth TX. *sigh* The memories are wonderful. I no longer have horses, my last four were sold a few months ago. I'll just limit the explanation to one word: Divorce.

The one plant which started my love for gardening? Can't limit it to one, but I can mention two: Hosta's and Clematis. I think those were the first two plants I purchased at my first home.

My goodness! Too much babbling. I'll save some server space for other people's comments ROLF!!
