I could easily become an addict if I could just figure out how - its probably the water problem - right now the name of the game is rain :> Literally, it has rained everday for 2 weeks. All the succulents MollyMc so kindly sent me have passed away, except for a couple of what-cha-ma-call-em tricolors. I never realized abuts have a prob. with rain - they are always billed as "tropicals" right? Also, I kept them in full sun and used a lot of peat - seems like I'm doing it all wrong. Maybe I'll try again. I have tons of water soluble fertilizer but haven't been able to use it. Our peak growing season is also our peak rain season! I feel ridiculous watering the poor plants even more! Been using Osmocote. Tman - I used to do all pinks too, then I had this revelation that hey, these are the TROPICS, so what are you doing trying to grow all that pink stuff that melts out in June? I am now an red/orange/yellow/purple person, cept for my hydrangea area. Never thought it could happen to me. Used to HATE orange. Helps that all the gardening mags are now admitting that something beside blue and pink can be pretty. |
