Ah ha! That must be the problem, we did have a warm winter so the Monardas probably didn't get enough of a chill. I have them on the north side of the house where they are shaded all day in the winter, so it's about the coldest spot in the garden. Still, I only had to cover stuff a couple of nights all winter against cold temps. Next winter I will put ice cubes on them . . . that's probably why some of my daylilies didn't bloom, too.

These small red ones are faithful bloomers, and even re-bloom a few times during the summer.
