I think that term "naked ladies" is very loosely applied to any flowering plant that makes leaves early, then dies back and sends up flowers without any leaves later in the season. Lycoris do it here. In my garden in Salt Lake I had Autumn Crocus - Colchicum - that were also known as "naked ladies" because that's what they did. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/98056/
