To go to Santiago, that is Chile's capital city, it takes 7 hours, there is a very good freeway , it is a cold, unfriendly but a fast road, I do prefer the old highway where you could stop at many places to have a "cupa" or a drink and you could do a lot more sightseeing than now , it was a long trip but enjoyable, used to be a 10 hour drive . And you had to stop due to the road conditions

When travelling now, usually we leave Temuco at about 2 am reaching the crazy pace of Santiago at about 9am.
