Mom and I are off tomorrow evening to North Carolina for 10 days to visit with my daughter and family. I am so excited that Mom is finally confident enough to try the trip as she has never seen Laurie's home or area. Should be fun!

We had a very high wind a couple of days ago - in fact the news said that there were gusts recorded at 100 mph on Oahu up on the pali. It wasn't that bad here, but tons of green mango came down and Frank has taken them into work for his staff - many of whom are Philippina. They make some kind of chutney with the unripe fruit - problem solved!

Here is a Japanese White Eye bird that has made a nest right at the front door. She seems to be quite undisturbed by our comings and goings.but I can't spray for the white fly on the Stephanoitis (sp?) while she is there!
