I'm hoping the ajuga and variegated liriope (from sallyg) are going to spread and fill in nicely. It was so hard to dig that I just plopped them right on top of the existing clay mud. On the left is the start of a shade garden. That oakleaf hydrangea was purchased this spring but hasn't flowered, which is a bit worrisome. It has a fungal infection, like every other plant in my garden. That area was sheet mulched over the winter and has pretty good soil. I just couldn't sheet mulch the walkway. |
