The dark, shiny leaves with the Meat-colored undersides (ahem...Beefsteak...)...it is a good
grower and easily propagated. Don't overwater. As with all Begonias--err on the dry side!

I would not say it has thick stems, though--maybe the older ones? They tend to twist and wind
and can look pretty massive.
