I did not speak with this gentleman, but a friend is trying to help him ID this smallish bird that has been sleeping on his back porch recently.

He told my friend he lives adjacent to the back end of River Legacy Park in Arlington, TX. There are two birds that come in. They both sit in opposite corners. He has never seen their heads. We are assuming the flashing (trim board below the bird) is 3" tall, making the bird about 6" tall in it's crouched form.

One guess is juvenile American Kestrel. Would anyone else like to take a stab at it?
Thanks, Missy
*UPDATE* IT SEEMS LIKE THE SIZE ESTIMATE MAY HAVE BEEN OVERSTATED. THE CONSENSUS NOW IS CAROLINA WREN.
