Love your basement gardens Debra - Court told me this morning he didn't like the lights I had in the front room on my plants. I told him you were my "inspiration" and showed him your pictures, above. He said "mighty fine piece of basement there."

Excitement here - well besides taking in another stray dog yesterday - my 'purple knight' alternanthera cuttings have flowers on them! I've seen pictures of them with flowers but grew this all summer with no blooms. So cute. :)

I took cuttings of a plant from Court's mom last week that I haven't been able to identify. I'll post a picture later. Maybe you all can help. Leaves are lanceolate and multicolored white, green dark green. I thought it was an alternanthera but it is not. Then I thought it looked like euphorbia marginata but it is not. It has black/dark stems. Beautiful foliage plant. I hope they root.

Have a pleasant Saturday.

p.s. This is a picture of the dog that I took on Christmas day. She'd escaped from her home, which I found a block or two from here. The owner was not in the least bit happy to see her and when he took her around back I heard her scream. :/

A couple of neighbor ladies were walking with me and one looked at me with the same look of dread and like, "oh (expletive)." One of my friends said, "She'll be back." Meaning the dog would get out again, and here she is sitting on the couch next to me today. I pulled her in off the street yesterday morning. Today I was about to walk her back home and stopped to show her off to the neighbor who helped me take her back Christmas day. She is the one I exchanged "the look" with, and now after she comes home from "Lil Gym" with her toddler she is going to take the dog over there to visit for a while. I doubt that the owner will be looking for the dog based on his lack of excitement before. The proximity thing is the only thing that makes it hard to harbor a dog that lives just around the corner. Keep you posted.
