I hung my skillets and what have ya on the kitchen side of the stair case wall. It's not all my skillets and cast irons but most of it. I can't hang it all right now cause the black board will not hold the weight. These are hanging on the wall studs. Later when I put up the wood wall panels, it can handle the weight of the smaller cast irons. There is a few antique strainers on the wall too. (looking for cast iron serving utensils )


edited= the shelf is temporary and that is where a future cabinet and counter top will be.
