Vicki, how wonderful that you quilt and that you are doing it for a cause. I used to do a lot of quilting and loved the creativeness of it all. Below is a jeans quilt I made for my nephew for his college graduation. I use flannel on the back of the 'rag quilt' squares. They are mighty heavy and would keep someone nice and toasty. I saved jeans for awhile. The kids jeans just don't give you many squares, but large gentlemen jeans are the best! I have seen the tops of jeans used to attach skirt ruffles or to make purses or totes. A DG friend uses the waistbands only to attach to crochet purses. I have lost my quilting area to "It makes too much noise" and the invasion of "the office" in that space.
