This year I 'discovered' the whole east side of my garden that has a shaded walkway under a massive live oak tree. It has nice established plantings of some tree Philos, and a lovely tree fern, but was otherwise overrun with weedy fern and air potato. I hadn't wanted to plant much there since it was easy care, and low water usage, but we got our well working so now I have no excuse not to explore some plants with more color for there. Somebody gave me two 'Prince of Orange' philos for starters. I think they look like they belong in Disneyland . . but they're doing well. |
