We have had buckets of rain here in the last few days, 5" in a half hour the other day. When I mentioned it to a friend who lives about 20 miles from here he said they hadn't had that much in 4 months. My brug flowers are hanging like wet rags now.

We have had extraordinary birds right in the back yard the last few days, I am usually too blind to see them but our sons and the grandkids spotted a Bald Eagle. a pair of Pileated woodpeckers and this guy, a Great Horned Owl. He is hard to see in the picture but was about 20" tall in person. Amazing.
