risingcreek wrote: first, this is my first year every growing morning glories. i planted seeds of what were supposed to be clarks heavenly blue, heavenly blue and a pink one i dont remember the name of. all of them, every one, bloomed pink. i have tried to decide if they were 1. mislabeled, 2. only the pink ones germinated, or 3. something in the soil made them all pink. i am thinking it is most likely something in the soil. i love the color i did get, and they grew everywhere but i am guessing i should have the soil tested to see what it is either missing or has too much of. i purchased some wonderful colors last week but i am not sure about planting them, in case they all go pink on me. maybe i should plant in pots with mix instead of in my soil. help please. the soil here is mosly clay, sand or decomposed granite or a mix of all three. the water is from a well, not city water. |
