Hydropinke - the spots are definitely fuzzy gray patches, but if you try to rub it off, i noticed that it also seems to have "eaten" into the leaf some as well, as i am unable to completely remove the entire spot. No sprays / insect control products have been used that i'm aware of.

Cheryl, there is a large oak tree, as well as a covered patio, which both keep them shaded pretty much all day.
