Linda - That's a good question! Probably a number of things can cause a split bloom. A windy day. A bug. Watering a plant. Accidentally tearing the bloom when touching it. Or it could be a genetic cause. A mutation. I get split watermelons when they get too much water and direct sun on the fruit.

Jackie - That's a neat comparison between Debra's bloom and the Xiong's bloom. Nice dark lavender color on the first bloom. I really like the color and the stripes on the last one! Very unusual! You are getting crosses galore! And they are also so lovely!

Debra - One of my favorite I. nil leaves is the Pink Silk leaves. They are large variegated heart-shaped leaves! I think Jackie is growing one this year? And maybe Helena?
