Lily...yes on the TST male and dark female!! I just went to a presentation that Dale (lep farmer) gave last night and so it is a little clearer on the sexes now. Won't be long my old brain will confuse me again though! LOL!
On the freshness of the mw leaves, I find if I collected early in the morning or late at night they stayed fresher longer. Also take a cup with a moist paper towel with you to gather them in. Not just water because there maybe small cats on the leaves. After I inspect them inside I rinse them in water, then poke the ends in wet foam even if I am not using them right then. I usually collect only in the shade if I have to do extras during the day. Old pic...no Monarchs this year!


Marna....Yes..I would love to have seen the cat hunt gear! Glad the wee one began eating again.
