I am looking at my shady walkway now in a whole new light - since Rita spotted the tree philos out there. We've been here 4 years, and I've hardly looked at that area since it really takes care of itself nicely. But . . . that fence along there has a shelf along the top, looks like it's made for growing orchids! And here I've been resisting all those gorgeous phaels for months because I thought I had nowhere to put them! A whole new garden in the offing!

Resisting the temptation to grow orchids and broms on the oak tree branches, though. Some fool fastened broms in the crutches of the oaks with great big nails, and the bark on the trees is just now healing up from the damage.
