When there is rain after a long dry spell (today, let's hope!) I get a veritable rock concert of frogs laying eggs in the pond. Southern toads and leopard frogs are the two most common ones I see. I had a pair of leopard frogs living in the pond most of last summer. They're really pretty and have a crazy deep croak. The Southern toads make a high whistling sound. Picture from last summer - Southern toad.

I also have nasty invasive Cuban tree frogs around the pond from time to time, but have learned how to trap and remove them. They eat everything, including the other frogs and the baby fish!
