Braveheartsmom wrote: Aloha all, Has anybody ever eaten a Rolinia? We went to Mana Foods last weekend where they have all sorts of local fruits that we have never heard of before, and bought one to try. It was delicious! It looked rather like a cherimoya, but tasted just like sweet lemon pie filling. I have 6 of the seeds in pots to see if I can raise my own little trees, although I am not sure if I will be able to grow them happily in my warm, dry area. If anyone comes across this fruit you should give them a try. I have had a very busy week - workmen and sawdust all over the place as we are having the termite riddled beams replaced in all the rooms. Even if only one beam has been attacked they all have to match in the same room - and wouldn't you know one in every room was eaten away - LOL! To try to save money I have been doing the priming and painting myself. Luckily I have no trouble with heights, but it's still a long way down from the top of a 12 foot ladder! It's taken me the whole week to just get four beams and a window done. No time to go to the beach this morning because I have to make up the beds and get ready for my daughter Laurie and my grandson Dustin who will be arriving tomorrow while I am at work. We are so looking forward to having them. Frank will have his buddies to go and play with in the ocean - they both are much more competent swimmers than I am. The kayak is dusted off and stands ready and waiting... I hope everyone is well and surviving the heat that seems to have settled in across much of the mainland. Jenn |
