We are all electric so our bill normally goes up in the winter anyway. I was pleased with the heater over all. I did put bubble wrap between the joists in the ceiling which are covered in polycarbonate. I had an Australian Tree Fern, Poinsettia and an Elephant Ear in there all winter with no problem.
