That summer I was pleased to see a frog on a lily pad one day and felt like I'd brought 'balance' to my garden. Fast forward 3 years, and here we are in 2011. In mid-May, the evening air was filled with the sounds of dozens of frogs, courting. The racket was so loud at dusk, you could not sit on the patio and hold a conversation. One evening, a couple who walk in the neighborhood knocked on the front door and asked if I have an outdoor sound system playing 'nature calls' - they thought I had the volume turned up too high! Last night, as we ate dinner in the kitchen, I noticed a frog clinging to the window - I could not resist capturing the little fellow - in a photo! |
