I would not plant the Red firespike in the ground, if needed I would re-pot a size up. The plants in the ground in my garden will come back but never get mature enough to bloom, the potted firespike will bloom in the fall.
The plant in the picture is a Brazilian Red Cloak, they are easy to root if you would like a plant. I have only positive comments regarding this plant.
