I have two red-flowered ones in my yard passiflora coccinea (see pic) and a hybrid 'Lady Margaret' that do not make any fruit. I think they breed them to make pretty flowers, and this makes them have no fruit. There's one with all lavender flowers that is really gorgeous but doesn't have fruit either. They are very nice, easy care evergreen vines if you have a spot where you need a (really robust) vine. Cover an ugly fence in one season, no problem. You'll have to wait in line for mangoes from me, kiddo - everybody wants them and I fill up the freezer with mango ice cream before I give any away, too. But if you drive around your neighborhood with an eye out, you'll almost surely find somebody with a tree that's loaded down right now. Make friends . . . LouC - really? Sasquatch in Florida? I'm from British Columbia and I thought Sasquatch only hung out up there! He must have migrated south like me for the great weather. |
