BEAUTIFUL gardens, quilty & debra!!! what inspiration these are!! i woke to find the water heater in our master bath had JUST broken, so here's what i'm thankful for today: 1) i was home when it happened 2) i happened to need something in my closet 3) my neighbor was home & is an electrician 4) i have GOOD neighbors who also didn't mind me calling them at 6:30 and came right over & started helping me pull things out of my closet 5) Buster had suggested i make a path so he could get in there and replace it before it burst (eh?) 6) no real damage, just wet stuff 7) i had the presence of mind to go shut off the power to the well so it wouldn't pump any more water 8) ditto... the power to the water heaters 9) the neighbor suggested i pull the carpet out completely and let it dry on the porch 10) b/c i found the pad underneath (like a sponge!) had soaked up gallons of water!!! 11) we own a shop vac so i was able to vac up at least 15 gallons of water ;-) 12) we keep a stash of cash so my neighbor offered to p/u my new water heater that he will install later today, since he has a pick up and is going to Home Depot anyway 13) i'm still able to do this kinda stuff 14) it was only $258 for materials and $100 for labor 15) it's giving me the "opportunity" to clean out my closet, and i'm seriously considering a built-in (semi-custom) 16) my XM docking station came in today, so i'm listening to my favorite station while i work 17) ... and my tomato plants & other goodies are alive and well in this 104 south Texas heat!!
