I was afraid that they wouldnt be able to get enough fresh air in it. Haystack I named old CopperJack after the man who actually raised his parents. I got Copper and his brother Carrot from a dear friend in my Atlanta Poultry Meetup group. We traded baby boys when they were very young so as to keep new "good" blood in our stock. I got a great trade. Copper's tail is a lot shorter right now than usual, he was caught by a dog and the feathers were ripped out and he was mauled very badly. I grabbed him up and checked him for open wounds, there were none, so I placed him in a "safe house"for a couple of weeks while he recouped and grew in his tail. He is all better now and as you can see he can still produce offspring but it was a touch and go for a while. His tail still is very short buts its growing. None of this affected his "Strut" though! LOL! Oh Yes the dog problem was handled too! Catmad Im not sure what the coloration on Chickopea would be called, I just say Buff with black tail tips. With Seramas its the pld " Box of Chocolate" routine, You never know what 'cha gonna get! But thats why I love the waiting on new babiies, I love the guessing game! |
