Oh, good, Dave! So glad that you are OK! And also sorry that others are not.

Your greenhouse looks to be in good order now. Do you still get high winds there? Does it affect your GH?

My gerberas have been sulking at the weather as it is warm a few days, which they love, and then cold with rain or snow....hopefully that last part is over. I have not yet planted them out and they look awful. I hate to have to buy more, but I was counting on them for the new garden. A few of them look better than the others, so I will continue to have hope for them. I should know better than to get them early in the season. RJ, is it constantly warm now, where you live? Did you grow them from seed? I have been considering doing that, but since I can barely keep them nice getting them from other growers, it may be lesson in futility. It is going to rain any moment now, according to the weather predictors...

Jeanette ~ Did you find what you were looking for? Sorry, I forgot what it was. Plant food? Is it raining now? The rain is supposed to leave by tomorrow and then get warmer the rest of the week. I can hardly keep up with all of this.

I will apply more mulch to the new bed and then finish the bed on the north side of the house, then as it goes around to the front of the house, get the weeds out of there and then apply the garden fork to loosen the soil a bit and then apply mulch there. I am trying to do this methodically, but sometimes I skip around, especially when I need to plant in other areas.

Bluestone, Terra Nova, Walters and Lakeside Callas (co-ops) will be here soon, so you may not hear from me for a while. I am trying to gather my strength...LOL!!

JB ~ I admire your ambitions on the lawnmowing. I understand why you like to do it and did not mean that you shouldn't do it....only if it gets to be to painful. I cannot handle our riding mower for very long any more since the shoulder surgeries as they put to much strain on them. So, you are fortunate to be able to do it. I also like to dig, and I can do it if I don't do too much at once. I work gradually on the beds and I hope to eventually have enough mulch on them that the digging will be minimal. Some beds I can just put a trowel into, which was impossible before, so I know it can be done.

Katie ~ Can you send us some pictures of your arroyo? It sounds like an interesting project.

Sharon ~ How is your trip progressing? What nurseries have you visited so far, and what other ones will you visit? Did you get any plants?

Well, I must go for now. Have fun all! And lets get those intense storm out of here!

This broom was severely damaged by the heavy snow this year. I will have to cut it back severely.....
