Mine arrive around the 3rd week of April...when the apple trees start to blossom here in Putnam County. They don't stay to long....they are one of the first to leave in late summer. They are pretty much gone by the end of July...except for those passing thru who had migrated further north. But I enjoy them so much. If they nest nearby they will bring their fledglings to feed. Next year they will all return to the same area and your population will grow over time!! We aren't sure exactly how many we have this year. We have seen up to 6 at the same time in the yard. We also get Gray Catbirds too now since they like the same things to eat. You may find a number of different birds like you new buffet! Enjoy your orioles! |
