Here's a picture I took of a clump in a very well tended garden -- I think they raked the leaves forward -- in my yard the foliage gets messy looking very quickly so the only place I have it now is in a bed of plumbago that hides it.

If you can live with a grassy clump for 9 months out of the year then go for it.
