I made a run to the landfill this afternoon. The road I take goes by a large swamp and I have seen several bald eagles perched on dead trees there. I took my camera with the 400mm lens just in case. As luck would have it, an eagle WAS there, but unfortunately, there were several cars following me and there was no place for me to pull off. So I sped on the the landfill, got rid of my trash and headed back, hoping he was still there. He was, and I stopped my truck in the road and got about 20 shots of him.

Then I drove on about 500 yards to where I could pull off the road and I stood at the edge of some trees and got a few more shots. About that time he flew off in the opposite direction. As I watched, he circled around and headed right for me, not more than 30 feet off the water. Very much like Duc's eagle.
