Sounds like this will be about an hour from my house, more or less - depends on traffic like everything else in CA!

I'm looking forward to getting to meet folks who are into plants - I live in a largely hispanic neighborhood, which is great, but there is a bit of a communication barrier with my neighbors as a result, so chatting up the neighbors about what they are planting is kind of out. People also seem to feel they can just help themselves to plants from my yard - people walking by will just snap off stems or leaves from my plants. Not too crazy about that, actually. But if I ask them not to (cause they'll do it right in front of me, without asking) they act as though they cannot understand me. I planted a couple of deterrent plants over the weekend. "Sticks of Fire" pencil cactus - if they break that off I bet it will cure them of snapping things off without asking.
