Thanks Bev. Yes, I grow the seed varieties as annuals. I purchased the Ranunculus seeds from Hazzards Greenhouse. There are many more online companies selling Ranunculus seeds this year (Park Seed, Stokes Seed, Outside Pride, Lavieenrosegardens, Plants Of Distinction).

The bulbs are listed as hardy to Zones 8 and higher. I was concerned last years bulbs might rot during our summer rainy season. After the foliage died I remove them in June, stored them in the house and then separated and replanted in October. The majority of them have returned and produced this year. I think they do well here because our weather from Oct-April is consistently mild and dry. They don't do well in heat, so the 6 straight months of mild/warm temperatures emulates the Southern California conditions that they grow very well in.
