I will answer Marnas question first.
Here, where I live, most birds don’t migrate. [Exception is Spangled Drongo]
They live their whole life here.
So our Birds get to know us all year round.
And I live on 11 acres of old Rainforest land.
We also don’t get annoying City Children who only want to scare and annoy them.
So our Birds get totally calm and confident around us.
This Magpie walks into my Studio to let me know its time for me to come out and feed them.
How can you not love these ‘Gods Critters’ ?
