I'm having lots of fun with my PVC lightstand and learning about seed germination. Started on 2-6-2011. Had done almost no seed starting in the past. A lot of the seed I have came from the new member welcome packet from DG and have been sitting in my box for about 2 years. Some may not be the kind of plant I grow all the time but since I have the seed, might as well give it a try.

The following have germinated and seem to be doing very well:
Tomatoes - several different kinds
Red salvia
Old-fashioned vining petunias
Gaillardia Pulchella
Purple Giant Hyssop - database said it was slow to germinate. It came up in 4 days !!
Cosmos - very fast growing, tall and spindly. Not sure how to handle this.

Some action with the following but just not as vigorous:
A couple of pots of Lyre Leaf Sage have come up. Several haven't.
Black Prince Snapdragon - extremely tiny little shoots appearing.
Ordinary snapdragon - the same
