Pengilly...welcome to the Bird Forum and thanks for those wonderful shots of the gorgeous Scrub Jay! That must have been wonderful to have them land on your hand!!

We had about 8 inches of snow and it came in blizzard fashion. Needless to say all the feeders were quickly covered and I ended up outside in the middle of it all trying to put feed where the birds could get to it before it was all covered up. I put some under the shop canopy and under all the benches and tables. Lots of other places too and here is a shot of an old lazy susan I put under an old table. The bottom layer was quickly covered up but the birds were able to eat from the other layers.
