I've been checking a local lake that held 8 wintering Trumpeter Swans last year. Finally, yesterday, 3 showed up. Don't know if the others will return or not. They showed up on 01 Jan last year and 05 Jan this year. The heads on these aren't stained with iron deposits like the ones last year, which makes me wonder if they are the same ones, or if they are they must have spent the warmer months in a different location.
