Jeanette ~ I fell due to the fact that at the time, I was taking too many meds. I am off all of them now - sleep, muscle relaxer, anti-anxiety, narcotic pain pills. The only thing I use is acetaminophen, enteric coated aspirin and anti-inflammatory patches, when needed. The first two, however, every day. It was a challenge, especially the Ambien. It took over a year to get a good night's sleep. I was taking Ambien for years, though. None of them are good long term. And even with the pain pills, etc., I still had pain.

Yes, I still have pain but try other things. I use a heat pack to put in the microwave every night, before bed. That all being said, I have not fallen since last January, and probably will not fall again. (At that time I tripped on a shoelace.) I am more careful as well. Those falls scared me. I just need to get strong so I can be more productive in the garden. Last year I was not expecting such a short growing season. This year I hope to be better prepared all around. It is important to be strong, especially if you want to do physically demanding work.

I have been hiding from myself my true cost of gardening. It will be an eye-opener for sure. I will estimate what I have purchased this last year in anticipation for the growing season. I was lucky to get those 2 thermostats on sale from T&M. They email those sales to me, and I almost deleted it but gave it a glance over. Then, of course, I had to research the cost of heat mats, since I have been using heating pads. Stokes had them for a little bit less than others and the shipping fee was comparable. (Then, of course, I had to get a "propagator"!) LOL! It included a heat mat, tray, 2 sizes of domes, the tall one that had vents. Good for those slow starters.

So, what are you growing this coming year? Will you be doing anything during the winter? (Inquiring minds want to know...) Not just Jeanette....come on, y'all share!
