Burn, amazing grosbeak. Hack, so jealous of your beautiful house finches. Mine left for some reason. I'm sure you'll see a yellow one soon. Nanny and Hack both caught behavior that I saw for the first time this last weekend, a Carolina Wren at the feeder. I've never seen one eat from my feeder before. I was shocked. Also, if you plant it, they will come. Planted a wax myrtle a few years ago because sign said "attracts more than 30 kinds of birds." I hadn't noticed that birds were particularly attracted to it until this weekend. A Ruby-crowned kinglet and a Yellow-rumped Warbler have been eating the berries every morning for the last three days. I've never seen either of them eating berries before. Guess the bug population is down. Hard to believe since something bit me right through my jeans yesterday. Almost had two great pics of yellow-rumped but they were both in the shade. Sharing anyway. LOL, just loaded the pic and it's not one of the two that I was thinking of. Guess I had 3 almost good pics. Wonder where those other two are? |
