I'm positive that some clem's are born to be lush and gorgeous while others are more ordinary looking and just not exciting. I do love the tiny ones like Duchess of Albany and would gladly take photos but the deer love that one.

The white clem's are often overlooked but I find them so appealing. I'd probably have entered this one in the contest but the earwigs feasted on the blossom closest to the tree. It's Lanuginosa Candida and just glows in the shade.

Between the deer and the earwigs I think of Henry Mitchell's quote about weeds:
Make no mistake, the weeds will win: nature bats last.

Nature always bats last for us gardeners.
