nutsfordaylily wrote: Thanks, Allison. I have finally caught up with all of this thread. Whew! There was a lot! Debi_k, that sounds like fun what you guys do at your place for Halloween. Wish we got more kids here. We got 3 groups, and that's it, so I didn't really get to show off my pumpkins that took a long time to carve. Maybe next year I'll invite more friends with kids to come over. Celeste, love the pics of the giant pumpkins. The kids are cute sitting on that big monster pumpkin. Your pumpkin carving party sounds wonderful. Everyone looks like they had a wonderful time, and the pumpkins came out fabuloso! That's a super idea. Maybe I'll do something like that next year. Love the dragon one that Brian carved. I had dreams of carving a dragon on a pumpkin, but never got around to it. Maybe next year. Cute pumpkin top hat you made for your DGD. Great costumes on everyone. I especially liked Hayden's. Memory, next year my sister and I want to grow a bunch of pumpkins. That will be fun, I think. Allison, you mentioned something about coco coir pickups. I was wondering what that was about. I'm with you about being happy about people stopping by to check out the decorations we put up. I really don't care if others don't decorate. I only put up a few things myself, mainly some mums and pumpkins, and my sis puts up some lights. Not everyone celebrates Halloween. For some people it's a religious reason they don't, just as the JW's don't celebrate any holidays. That's all fine with me. To each his own. BTW, great job on your decorating this year, as always it looks outstanding. Oh, it's never too late to carve a pumpkin, unless it's past Halloween. I did mine on Halloween day. Only problem was that we got our first group of kids stopping by early, before I got a chance to light the first one I did. I was almost done with the second one. I knew I should have done them the day before, but I just didn't feel like it. Sherrie, that e-card you posted a link to was fantastic. I had gotten that from 2 different people in an email and forwarded it on as well. Jen, the pumpkins your family painted came out wonderful. That party of your friends with the zombies and live people in coffins sounds like it was a big hit. JoAnne, your display looked great until the poor pumpkins faded away. That's why I didn't carve mine early. That and no one to see them, anyhow, except just us. That is so cool about the leaf with BALANCE written on it. Victor, loved the shots of the crepe myrtle in the light of the pumpkins. Speaking of dogs eating pumpkins, I kept giving Patches the scraps from my pumpkin carving efforts. She was totally enjoying them, but then started leaving a mess, as she was not finishing it all. I had to stop. Louise, looks like it was a lot of fun up your way. The girls really looked cute.
